Survival my whole life doing very careful FW dips including temp, ph, and buffer matching: 0%...Survival/recovery at NSA just throwing them in our cichlid tanks for about 10-30 minutes: 90% Crazy I know, must be the water lol. During my year at Petco I pretty much ran the whole system at 1.015 (with occasional trips into .09 range) and rarely had ick show up, when it did it wasn't a big deal to dump in some coppersafe for a week or three. At NSA we've has really good luck with the supposedly reefsafe Kick-Ick etc...Though it may be responsable for some brains bleaching in a couple of our customers tanks (no deaths I know of), nothing else we know of has ever been affected...oh we think it made our urchins drop all their spines too once, they all came back though.

We all know what's ideal, but actually doing it is something else ;)

This is just a tank setup for a puffer and a damsel. No corals will be in this tank. I would like to add a picasso trigger someday to this tank though anyways. Back to the story ive used the kick ich stuff in this tank and lowered the salinity. Both fish seem to be doing fine most of the ich has subsided. Im gonna wait a week or so w/ the low salinity then raise it back up to the 1.019 level that I will leave it at forever. I do like the kick ich stuff I however see it as a prayer in a bottle that is it. I have read alot about freshwater dips just dont really wanna touch the puffer im afraid of stressing the poor fellow out. I believe w/ the right water conditions alot of care and carefully lowereing the salinity I will be fine however I did try the kick ich stuff to just as a backup plan. You cant ever be to safe from this ich $&^t you know well anywho thats my 2 cents :D
