From what I can tell the RSM line of tanks is a pretty good tank for those who don't like smelling PVC glue and working in tight spots with pipes. If your not a diy person I think they are great.

  2. Tank is 440L + 60L sump, sump has C-Skim1800, with 9000lph return pump. DT still has the rear compartments with intakes and three outlets, all 2700lph. The rear compartment has section for ATO resevoir (apparently enough space for 2 weeks!)(ATO is build in). Overflow grill is full length.

Sump includes a utility area that can be used to house a refugium or up to 3 reactors.

Cabinet is aluminium, panels attached to frame and are not structural, meaning they can be changed inline with trim which is "snap on". Power centre has been moved to the cabinet, which now has 10 sockets/switches, and two controls for lights, all in a shelf.

The tank is drilled so no external pipework, connection to sump is standard union connectors, all piping for chiller and aux reactors is included but chiller is not included, neither are there any cooling fans.

Lighting is three section 2x 4x 54w, with and central 2x54w 12 LED moonlights, which can slide swivel etc.

On a big note! This is still in development and trade was asked what they would change modify as this is a first look. So is still going to be a while.

Glenn, you need to get a job as a Red Sea Rep. Glad you found a system that you are confident with. May help out a lot of new reefers to get the right start on a great system.

  4. LOL I have had sucess with my 1st swt ...

I do think the AIO's have brought tens of thousands on new people into this great hobby, in the Red Sea Max forum on Reef Sanctuary, someone new buys a tanks and joins everyday.

Quite a few also upgrade to custom tanks ... here a pic of one of my RS freinds that had a RSM 130 for a year & then went custom to this tank... 57 Gallon Rimless...
ATB Econo V1.5, Outer Orbit 250hqi with 2x24 Ati Blue+,1 Fiji Purple and 1 Aquablue Special, Auto Top Off unit, Tunze 6025 and 6045 and MP10, RKL Controller, 2X Drew's Dosing Pump, Dual BRS GFO and Carbon Reactor

but your right, I bet I know more about Red Sea Tanks than anyone in Arkansas LOL, in the Red Sea Max forum, we help out the RED Sea Reps & debug for them all the time. I have offered to be the 1st RSM 500 owner in the USA :)

  5. If I don't get the RSM 500, I will most likely end up with a RSM 250

Wow that is one pretty colorful tank, that is my goal some day. Ha ha yeah you should be a rep Glenn. I will tell you that some day I will up grade to a bigger tank when I get all the chemistry down to an art for growing colorful healthy corals. I like my aquapod so much with everything being inside one unit, well ......not any more because I striped the ballistic out of the hood to make room for more light but you know what I mean. I may have to go with the 250 though because I don't like seeing the light coming off the fixture into the tank. the new 500 dues not have an enclosed hood. after having a tank with an enclose hood for so long it would take some getting use to.
    Always love the updates.
    Glen
