I started cycling my tank on tuesday and just recently about saturday cloudywhite particles in the water started showing up and today they have gotten worse. Aso I think I have brown algae im not sure and Im wanting to know how to get rid of it? 295167_3712638288453_236611462_n.jpg 576196_3712768331704_192171262_n.jpg

I wouldn't worry about it at this point. Your tank is cycling and that looks like a bacterial bloom. No big deal at this point. Also the brown algae is a good sign that your cycle is progressing along nicely.

It should clear up in a few days, maybe sooner! Keep us posted. :)

I agree, the best thing you can do at this point is go on vacation for a week and leave the tank alone. Let it continue the cycle. I would add a deli shrimp (raw) or two and just be patient. Nothing good hapends in a hurry with a marine aquarium.

So the algea growing on the rocks and sand will eventually go away?

Yea, every tank goes through a diatom bloom and then it goes away.

You will need to get a cleanup crew when you tank finishes cycling, anything that hasn't by then will promptly get eaten by the CUC.

I could certainly take care of that for you at our next meeting. It will be in Conway. You can also sign up through the forum.

    Thanks,

I would like to get a membership also. I checked on the forum and only way I see is with a PayPal account. Any other way to pay the dues? I would mail it somewhere if I could.

If I'm not mistaken you can still use paypal without an account.
