I have mine set at 45% white, 52% red, 54% green, 85% blue, 85% deep blue, 63% royal blue. My vega's are only 7 inches from the serface of the water so you may want your settings a little higher.
well just ordered my leds bought 3 units for 451 shipped heres the web site http://twilightgroups.en.alibaba.co...2_120W_aquarium_led_light_for_coral_reef.html and this is the layout that i chose the blues r on one dimmer and everything els is on the other
I don't have Vega's but I do have a Kessil, Current USA, and a Innovative Marine. After switching 3 of my 4 tanks to LED's, my electric bill dropped by an average of 15-20 dollars a month. So if you factor that in along with the amount you save on new bulbs every 8 months. I payed for my Kessil A150 and started saving money around month 9 Plus the tank looks much brighter and I love the look of it a lot more compared to the T5's.
Check that the Color version is out of stock right now. Question for Greg and Cory. Any problem with your controller? Saw a few complaints on RC about the controller and difficulty programming them. Did you get yours set Greg? I'm not very techno savvy and this is one of my concerns about either these or the Kessil 360's which my other choice right now.
I did get everything set and so far all but one issue has been user error. It is very easy to use the controler once someone gives you the basics. I am having issue with one light, I have a puck that is acting up, other than that I could not be more pleased. Couple of notes; I think the Vega's are great for a display tank and exact control, but if your doing any other application I would go with a lesss expensive version. Also my Zoa's and leather had to be removed, they do not like the LED's, in fact my leather looked sunburned at 40% andf both zoas and leathers refused to open once I moved past 35%. Now maybe with time that would change, but since the tank is an SPS tank I just removed them. I plan to post pic's later today.
Which torch, the one pictured is a frag I got at one of our meetings. The torch I got in Dallas does nothing for me, so if you want it I am sure we can make a deal.
It looks great under the blues, but so far no real color but again, I am still raising my lights and it may be a different story once I have everything in place.
Both of your tanks look great! I see your tank is a 125 Greg. How many units do you have and how far above the water line are they? Cory yours are 7" awl ...how many do you have and what size tank? I was thinking 3 for a 72x20x21? I'm concerned about the problem with Zoas as I really want some in my tank. I saw some in Cory's tank that looked good so maybe it is doable even for a newb?
I have 4 units and they are 10" above the water, I also added 2 paranormal 12" strips at each end. Honestly if I had another grand to waste I would add two more units, but that simply because of my braceing blocks the light and again I am at 40% so once I get up to about 60% I might change my mind. The other thing to keep in mind with mine is that it's SPS, if I were doing a mixed reef with zoa etc, I might be happy with just 3 units. I will say already I am getting amazing growth in a short period of time. The clams have never been happier. I have some LPS in the shaded areas and for now they are happy. The Tyree Neon Green leather hated the LEDS as well as the zoa's. I will say my hairt algae that had plagued me for months is gone. Feel free to stop by anytime
Hey guys, thought I'd add this to the thread. Reef builders reviewed them http://reefbuilders.com/2013/04/02/ai-vega-review-promise-leds/
