My daughter bought me a used 55 gallon for Christmas. (nothing but fish has been kept in it)

I noticed that around the bottom the trim is cracked in a couple of places. Do i need to replace this? If so where can i get a trim kit? I have looked for a mfg on the tank. light and stand and see nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Terrie

you need to get us a picture. Most of the trim is decorative only but a pic is the only way to tell.

I am usually not that concerned about the trim, it does help support the sides of the tank, but you never know what is going on under it. I would suggest taking it outside (when it warms up a bit) and setting it on newspaper and filling it up. If it has even a pinhole leak the newspaper will let you spot it very quickly. You just never know about something like that.
