What is a good powerhead that will recirculate water and give off a great  flow of water for a 36 gallon marine aquarium. Im getting a marine aquarium setup for christmas and i would like to get everything together and planned out.[IMG]

I dont see where you can fully put the hydors and the ecotechs in the same catagory unless you buy the hydors wave maker and not use some second kind.

Most second kind of wave makers are not really wave makers. Short steady burst of 10 seconds at a time some you might get down to 5 seconds but, this simply isnt going to do what a ecotech MP10 will do.
MP10s will rock a boat where a hydor on a duo will not.
Hydor CORRECT wave maker = $350
    Ecotech MP 10                     = $200

If you want just side to side motion use a Squid on a bigger pump... Its the cheapest
If you want side to side motion with power heads almost like a wave maker use hydors on a duo
If you want wave maker characteristics get a Hydor on its wavemaker
If you want real true knock your socks off wave action get an MP10

But seriously... The OP just needs the two hydors with no motion in the ocean if they are just getting started... $50 bucks for two Hydor Nanos is good but I would go with 4 if it were me. (I have 4 in my Neo and its still not enough for me)

actually... Its not enough... All have to be mounted on the back and never reach across to the front... I have absolutly no flow past half the tank..

Saveing for a MP10 at the moment.
