I still can't get a hold of him. I have left 2 messages. Maybe it's because I have an out of state number. Someone else with a local number is going to have to try. Maybe he will call you back.
I was led to believe there would be a membership drive type of action at this event; in conjunction with the cost of the event. Is this true? I was encouraged to do my membership at this time. Do I need to do my membership first? Or is this topic of membership card a separate thought? Advise.
Not sure I understand the question David, can you clarify? Usually we have two nice corals to frag at the workshop. If I recall correctly the cost for the workshop is less for members but only by the same amount as a membership I think.
do I need a "card" before the event. I was told a could pay for my membership as part of the Fish Bowl Frag event. 45.00$ for the event includes membership? is that right?
When and were is Novembers meeting....Ive missed the past few, its been crazy busy around my house...hope all is doin well
Hiya, The November meeting will be at the Fish Bowl in Searcy on November 21st. This is one of our two yearly frag workshops. There will be a selection of corals frag and everyone who participates will get the choice of three. Usually there's 5-6 corals to choose from. If you'd like to see a certain type of coral at the shop, please mention it in this post and we'll see what we can do. If you do not want to buy a membership to the club, it's $35.00 for the event. Most of the member/new members do the $45.00, which includes the event and a years membership. As for cards, this has come back up for discussion. We were not issuing them and had decided to that showing your membership on your phone through the website would suffice. However, this hasn't been cleared through the Fish Bowl and seems to be causing some issues. Besides the frag class, there will also be food: chili, sides, drinks and deserts. There will be a beanless chili and a pork chili this year. Also, there will be a raffle of items donated to the club. I'm not involved with this, so I'm not sure what will be available. The Fish Bowl usually donates a tank and he will also have great prices on corals and fish for event goers. The Fish Bowl has always been a great support of the club and it would be nice if the club showed their appreciation. If I have not addressed you questions, please let me know. Kim/Benton, AR
Excellent explanation Kim thank you so much. I will have money in hand on the 21st looking forward to it!!!
If there is a member that lives close to you, you could probably have them house the corals until you get your system running.
This may be a dumb question but how do you prove your membership by the website? Is there a distinction between club members and members of the website?
Hiya, I notice by our names where our icon's are it shows membership status. However, is this website membership status or club status? This has also confused me. Kim/Benton, AR
It is completely up to you but membership pays for itself as soon as you attend a meeting and pick up some coral. Welcome to the hobby and remember slow is good. NOTHING good happens fast in this hobby.
I know the Fish Bowl has a HUGE elegance coral. I'm not sure how easy it is to frag those. But I've had my eye on that coral the last few times I've visited the shop. It is probably the size of a basketball.
That coral is awesome. I didn't have enough room for it in my current tank. But I'm pretty sure that I'll be adding one in my new build. It looks like it is settling in nice. For sure centerpiece worthy.
Hiya, Anyway we can get an idea of what's going to be in the raffle Friday? Also, who is bringing what to the event? Me and John have the chili covered, but we need bowls, utensils, drinks and side dishes. Kim/Benton, AR
Thank you Kim. I have been so tied up lately I started slacking in my duties of the club. LOL The rumor mill says a Biocube. I know Jason was going to contact Morgan Moore at Reefgardeners. I don't know if he got their gift certificates or not. John
