Just added a star polyp. Have a few little guys that came with it. Need to know if they are good or bad.
The first is a long thin thing that will come out from towards the bottom of the rock and retract. The second is the white thing in the center, it moves around on the polyp. They don't appear to be hurting it but since this is my first thought I should ask. Thanks in advance for any help.

The first one is a terbellid worm or commonly called spaghetti worm. They are harmless detritus feeders, catching stuff with their tentacles and pulling it back to their mouth. I have several in my nano tank. I can't help with the second one, any possibility of a better photo?

I will try for another pic when I get home from work. It is almost shaped like a star fish, but when its on top of one of the polyps it curls around it. That's how it is in the pic I sent. Will try to get one when its in between.

That helps me, I was thinking asterina starfish. They are little hitchhikers stars that are usually harmless, but some have been known eat polyps and become a nuisance when there numbers get big.

First pic looks like a brittle star. I have them all over my tank.

So both should be OK to leave alone?

Found this guy coming out of a new rock I just added. It only comes out when the lights are out.

Bristle worm. Good member of the clean up crew. It will eat anything leftover from feeding or if something dies in your tank before you notice, he'll take care of it. If you notice tons of them at night, means you're probably over feeding.

Be careful when picking up your rock. While they are good for your tank, they're capable of stinging your fingers.

If you do get them in your fingers, a quick soak in vinegar will dissolve the spines and help it stop hurting more quickly.
