    And my bulkheads don't fit!

I called DSA and asked them what size bulkheads to get and they told me three 1"(drains) and two 3/4"(returns). I ordered them from DFS and they don't fit! The 1" are way too big to go thru the holes and 3/4" are slightly too big!

Are there different styles of bulkheads that require different size holes? The ones I have are schedule 80. From my meager plumbing experience I know schedule 80 fittings are thicker with a bigger outside diameter. Are there schedule 40 bulkheads?

Thanks greg. I looked it up at BRS and the 1" schedule 80's are 1.88" and the ABS are 1.65" (the holes are 1.75"). The 3/4" schedule 80's are 1.61" and the ABS are 1.33". My holes are 1.5"

I'll order the right ones from glassholes tonight!

72x24x21,155 gal. I had ordered the 130 but DSA upgraded me because of the problems on their end that delayed it for so long.

What an awesome size, 21 inches wide; can't wait to see it complete.

Sorry I'm terrible at knowing the convention....the water depth is 21" the width of the tank is 24". The 130 was going to be 72x18x21. I love the low/long look. I figure most fish don't swim vertically anyway.:) May be easier to light too?

I'm still torn about where to get live rock. Premium Aquatics can only get 2-5" size rock, Tampa Bay Saltwater scares me a little with the bad hitch hikers some have gotten (mantis shrimp, aptasia, eucinid worms, caulpera, etc). Really want some diversity though.

Usually hitch hikers will be on your live rock if it is pulled from the sea. If it is aquacultured in a proper facility you have a very slim chance of hitch hikers.

Yeah, that's what concerns me a little about TBS. Theirs has been cooking in the Gulf since the 1990's.

Go with what you think is safe. There are dozens of other live rock suppliers out there. I bought a little live rock as seed for my dry rock and I haven't had a problem.

That is a good size, mine is 24 wide and 24 tall, I love the depth but I have to use a step stool if something drops to the sand bed.

I bought rock from GulfLiveRock twice, it's right out of the Gulf and it was awesome. I dipped my rock to get rid of pest but you should not be scared of it. I know you can get 50 pounds delivered for $200 and its a great way to seed your tank.

I really hated the pests that came along with the live rock. You always get something. I just seeded my dry with simply my hermit crabs. Their shells had some coralline algae on it and that appears to be more then plenty to seed the tank, especially since they walk and climb all over the tank. However even with just dryrock I managed to get this strange creature that has a barrel shape body and whiskers growing over the tank but I guess its better then aptasia. I hope lol.

Thanks Greg. That's reassuring. I think it's worth the small risk. What did you use as a dip? RO/DI water or something like a coral dip?

I used a coral dip on my rock or anything that goes in my tank; it's good practice. While some people don't dip anything and have alll the luck. I actually have more issue with items purchased from others. Once you get the pest off your rock you should be good to go.....the issues I face is items aquired from others, like pyrimid snails that can devestate your zoa's in a quick minute. Flatworms, so you should keep a yellow tail damsel in your tank for that, red bugs use to scare the hell out of me, but they are so easy to kill with the dog pill, the real evils are aptaisia and malano and acro eating flatworms.
