Got the frame finished this weekend... Installed two shop lights, one on top and one underneath. Put the door in and even had a enough scraps to build a stand for the 20 long I plan on using as a frag tank..... (and before its asked, yes the studs on the front wall are just held in place by screws... They will be able to be removed for the installation of the tank.)
Ihave found out how I am going to get my lights up and down too! [youtube:1049vozu]Ae-2nHTB5GM[/youtube:1049vozu]
That's pretty awesome, I can see how it would work with the hood being on four wires and a pully system in the ceiling.
Great build - really enjoying following along. Reef in the Sky's tank also has light that move up & down like that sooooo cool !
been busy again today... was told that the tank should be in some time next week... possibly thursday... I dunno if I am going to be able to have the lil tank raising party that early in notice so we may go with the next weekend of the twelth.... Its getting closer and closer...Should get the skimmer tomorrow.. the funnest part is about to begin!
http://www.offroadhunting.com/sfh100.html As awesome as the motorized light is I may wind up going to these... we will see.
I got my RO unit set up, changed the filters, plumbed it through the wall, set up the new containers and got the duct work for the Air Conditioner / Dehumidifier through the floor and all that fancy stuff this evening. I am about three steps away from pluging in a tank and working on plumbing... Its all starting to come together. Yes the duct work will be mounted and then ran out the wall on the side closest to the camera... I just ran out of duct tape.
Thought about this... I have two high power light fixtures.. one 36" T5 set up I got from norm to use and a 24" 250w MH with t5s... I cant make up my mind on placement. I am thinking 24" MH on the top 20 and the 3' T5 on the 75... I have two small 12" regular ol' lights that i am going to put over the fuge...
Installed under the shelf inside the equipment room. Got my pump in yesterday! Current veiw of the upper room.
test fit....Right before I crushed the tip of my finger... I think I am done for a day or two.... Ouch....
I am curious; how you are going to get the tank thru the small door way with everything being framed in? 2: How are you going to heat and cool the sump? Not pickin just curious
every thing isnt put together. the studs are screwed up there.. I just went ahead and cut them... I will be able to remove these with ease when we put in the tank.. then they will be put in for good and sheet rocked. the heating and cooling part, everything is open on the one end.. this pic shows it best... each little part is tied together... in the winter I have a small radiator style heater that willl be placed in the sump room that will be able to produce heat to the entire room.
[youtube:14gvzfh2]8BB_IYLwY3A[/youtube:14gvzfh2] These are the lights I was talking about that I am going to incorpertate in with the MH's.. I have a set of blues that are comeing too.
Hey lookin good. Question what safeguards are you taking for overflows or spills? are you goin to have any wood sealed or anything i looked at your plans man you are goin to have a lot of water.
everything that is white is sealed... The paint is a Valspar wood sealent that prevents any water from entering.. Other than that, all the edges at the bases will be siliconed as good as possible... The want is for the water to hit the floor and run out the garage (its on a slop to the outside) The top will have a hole to port any standing water to the bottom and the bottom rooms of corse will just run out the doors... With two 1" drains in the tank I really dont think I will have any problems with water up there. If it floods it will be on the bottom and will just go right out to the ditch.
[youtube:1hekqcsf]45dJOFc66fw[/youtube:1hekqcsf] Worked on the light fixture some this evening.. Still have another strand that are blues to put in it but this is what we took just messing around... This is me just cycling through some of the modes while ang films it for me to see...
