Long story short- I bought a 125 at NSA when they closed in November. During my road to recovery I built the stand. Santa brought me some sweet reef stuff like a Skimz SM203 skimmer, 2 WP-40s and some other odds and ends. Well I finally got off my rear and finished the plumbing today and filled it with freshwater and vinegar.
Nice! You have some really nice equipment there! I'm thinking about upgrading to one of the Skimz. Was looking at the one you got or the Kone SK251. Probably overkill for my tank. Like the idea of firing it up in garage and making sure the plumbing and everything works correctly before bringing it in the house.
I took next week off from work with the plan of finally setting this up and then life happened again. The good news is I just bought 90 lbs of rock from BRS, (75 lbs Pukani, 15 lbs Tonga). The bad news is I now have Dr.'s appointments Monday-Thursday of next week. Oh well, I'll work it in as I can. John.
The 40 looks great! Love the spot you've got for the 125. Is it 72X18? I'm close to pulling the trigger on the Skimz 203, is yours the DC version.
Thank you, the 40 is my baby. Yes the 125 is 72X18X 22 I believe. My skimmer is the Skimz Monster SM203 DC. I'm going to put up a 48" 6 bulb ATI Sunpower T5 over top of it. I know I'm 2 feet short but I'm going this route for a reason. This will allow me to put lower light demanding coral on the outside...in theory at least. John
Jennifer and I spent some time on the back porch with the Pukani and a piece of cardboard. This is our current thought. Tomorrow we will add tonga to the mix even though I still have pukani left over.
While I am waiting on more water I may as well continue with the build by doing Skimmer and sump construction.
