I am new to the hobby, been dealing with fesh water for years and thought it was time to do salt water. I have ordered a 75g drilled tank and am going to build a 20g sump. I am looking for a protien skimmer that would work for this set up, or an entire sump set up with skimmer and pumps if its the right price. If any1 has one the are trying to get rid of plz text me at 501-765-3197
If your building a sump, build a fuge too! A must! Lots of hype with skimmers, I'm using a Coralife 120....or something like that on my 140 display and it works great! According to all the online info that skimmer shouldn't wokr for my tank, ha. SPS, LPS, and Softies, but SPS dominated. Don't go crazy with skimming......it pulls out the bad....and the good.
well I am actually moving up to a bigger tank so i am getting rid of alot of things. I have a Marineland 100 Skimmer(which is amazing) custom sump, not sure the size I have to measure it. Also have a Mag 950 pump(again excellent just going to the next size). Finally a Wavepoint 4 t5 fixture like 6 months old( changing to MH) Make me an offer on anyof it you need.
I have a deltek protein skimmer that I will sell, I am going to an external skimmer. It works great just need more room in my sump. I would take $200 for it or make me an offer. You can call me at 501-412-0896 or 501-231-0105. I can post pictures of it after I get it out of my sump this coming week.
It is a Deltec Turbo series TS1060s. I sold this to Steve about 4 months ago I had just rebuilt the pumps it is a great skimmer. Here is a link [url2='http://www.marinedepot.com/Deltec_Turbo_Protein_Skimmer_TS_Series_In_Sump_Venturi_Needle_Wheel_Protein_Skimmers-Deltec_D_D_The_Aquarium_Solution-DD1573-FIPSISNW-vi.html':1u3xecbz]http://www.marinedepot.com/Deltec_Turbo_Protein_Skimmer_TS_Series_In_Sump_Venturi_Needle_Wheel_Protein_Skimmers-Deltec_D_D_The_Aquarium_Solution-DD1573-FIPSISNW-vi.html[/url2:1u3xecbz]
Saw in your first post that you might be looking at putting your refuge in your sump. If you are going to just have live rock which works great but I would warn against adding sand to a refugium setup in a sump. I have done this on several occasions and it can become a head ache. The more live rock the better but leave out sand.
I have a hob refuge now with crushed coral and rock but was thinking that I should only use rock in my sump but wasn't sure. Thanks for the info see y'all Saturday
