Anyone have any 'easy' (regular lighting, easy to care for, hardy) coral frags they'd like to sell? I'm looking for some near the Conway area.

It was pretty pricey for the size, IMO and from what I've seen offered here and on some other sites. You learn all of these things with time, I guess. lol I'd rather spend my money with someone else. =)

I have a good sized leather in my tank that I'm looking for someone to come frag a few pieces off of. Leathers are super easy to care for. No special care needed....at least not for me. I have them in a 14 gallon Biocube with regular lighting.

I also have a pulsing xenia that is getting too big, I'd be willing to frag some of that too if you like.

Im in Wooster if you wanna come by.

I would ABSOLUTELY love to have a piece of the xenia - they're my favorites so far. I'd like to have a piece of the leather, too. Don't need much of the leather since I'm getting a piece from someone else this weekend but I wouldn't mind a small piece. I have to go to class tonight so I won't have time to come by unless it gets out real early but if you're going to be around tomorrow I could come get them anytime. I will give you a call this evening if it's not too late when I get out of class and make arrangements. =) Thanks so much!

I'm not one that usually defends overpricing but i think i must remind everyone a few things.

The frags received from the club are cheaply priced due to the fact that the club as a whole does not have overhead of a storefront and is not out to make a fortune.

The main goals of the club are to educate and help spread the joys of this hobby to as many people as possible .

Most people forget that the corals that the club makes available to members are usually donated at cost from our sponsor vendors. this business model of course does not work in a store setting where the rent is still due.

you have to remember that product markup is something to be expected. Our Local stores seem to do a good job of balancing what a consumer feels is "reasonable" markup and blatant price gouging.

if you feel otherwise just browse through some of the other states forums or go to an out of state event where the tossing of $100 bills for 1" frags is an "acceptable" practice.

The corals chosen for our local events are usually things that a lot of us have deemed - no way i would pay THAT for a coral

shop your Acan's and Ducans for example... now remember what that club event you got them at cost you?

i for one even tend to pay buy corals from our local sponsors without complaining about price cause i understand without our local sponsors getting a fair shake from the consumer once in a while this club will not have our sponsors due to them closing doors ..

please think about this next time you feel like you paid too much or find a great deal on an online site.

most of the time our local sponsors will try to match pricing if at all possible.

Remember ... never hurts to ask.

Most of the sponsers of RRMAS are fair with their prices IMO. Good post Mike.

I agree, good post. We all need to think about our sponsors whenever we can.

I hope that I didn't offend anyone with my comments as that was not my intention.

I appreciate the fact that this lovely group has sponsors and I'm grateful for what they do for you guys.

As a previous business owner, I understand the need to mark prices to meet the costs of operating. I also understand the need of the consumer to find the best price possible, especially when starting a new hobby. I do believe that my complaint that my frag cost a lot was taken slightly out of context and I didn't mean for it to be a direct complaint about a business but more of a general statement of how the cost of things is adding up. The frag was expensive IMO but only from my personal standpoint. The price was competitive, if not better, than any of the frags I've seen locally.

Anyway, as I stated before, I'm sorry if anyone was offended. I promise I was wasn't trying to bash NSA. =)

How did the leather and the xenia take to your tank? I hope they did well. Let me know.

Luke, They are doing wonderfully! I'm so grateful for them! The zenia is doing especially well. It attached within a couple of days on it's own and is flourishing. The leather hasn't attached yet and is trying to pull itself away from the rock it's tied too but I hope it'll attach soon. It looks healthy and everything. =) Thanks again so much!
