What's the oldest fish in your tank? Do some live remarkably longer than others?

Ok Chris, I feel dumb. I stared at your tanks for over 2 hours and never noticed the flame angel. I'm guessing he is in the larger tank since you had a bi-color in the clam tank.

  7. When this thread was started it was my oldest fish. About 3 months ago it disappeared along with a sailfin tang that replaced him and a yellow tang that replaced him. I suspect that the new fishes are milling around to close to the carpet anemone at night and getting eaten because I have never found so much as a trace of any fish. But the flame should have known better after so long, but that is all that I can figure. So I only have three fish and will not be attempting to add any more until I do some revamping of the tank later this year. Thanks a lot for bringing it up - I had gotten over it and now I am right back to grieving his loss again. javascript:emoticon('')

Since I've only had saltwater tanks for less than a year this time around, my oldest fish are still young. I won't list the fish because I know how Chris feels about quanitity. I bought a couple tanks that had fish in them already that had been set up for over 3 yrs, so some are older. None have greying scales or washed out colors yet so I guess their still young, but some have that middle age spread around the belly that we know so well.

Like I said at the meeting I have a Red Sea Sailfin that is 15 years old. Now there is no fins on him. He likes for me to rub his sides. He keeps me from taking pictures of my tank because he wants to be in them. And if that happened Samper would bash me to no end. But after all those years he is happy to be alive.

I can attest to the Red Sea Sailfin being a camera hog! I was trying to take some pics of my tank earier tonight (after I thoroughly cleaned the glass).

He/She (I really don't know) is like my puppy. If I am up next to the tank he is trying to get my attention.
