I want to add a couple more fish in my 120g (48x24x24) tank. Currently there is a 4" yellow tang, 4" blue hippo tang, royal gramma and five blue-green chromis. There is a mature sarcophyton, a yellow gorgonian, small alveopora, frogspawn, hammer, brain, long-tentacle plate, xenia, zoanthids, pavona and about 20 big feather dusters.

Anyone have any suggestions for a couple of fish that would co-exist happily with this menagerie?

a couple of suggestions for some color would be a flame hawk, and a couple fairy wrasses, I like my shrimp goby with a pistol shrimp, their fun to watch.
watch the angles with the corals though, some aren't too bad like the flame angel. A sixline wrasse is also nice. I would say just look online at the ones you like and then find out what conditions they need and the food required. Thats part of the fun of this hobby. We never can learn it all !!!!

We had a flame hawk that was a really cool fish with a ton of personality but we couldn't keep any shrimp for more than 30 seconds and he also struck at hermit crabs and snails. Finally, the dummy jumped out of a tiny opening in the tank cover.

I'll take a look at the wrasses you mentioned. I've been trying to find a watchman/pistol shrimp combo without luck lately.

Just let me know the kind of fish you would like and we will find the ones that are compatable with your system. My likes and yours may differ. Like you always say............I need more information.

The anthias look really interesting. I'd love to have some SPSs with long branches for the anthias and chromis to hide in. I think that would be reefy.

The word that many of the wrasses are jumpers concerns me. I really don't want to block any of the light from the MHs with a cover. Do you think the lack of cover would be a deal-breaker when it comes to keeping wrasses?

I think you could put egg crate on the back of the canopy to cover the gap you have. No disruption to air flow and you won't have to block any light. wouldn't be too hard to rig something up. They might jump but would smack into the inside of your canopy and fall back in.

Those anthias are pretty aren't they?

I'm really impressed by LiveAquaria's Diver's Den. I ordered a deep purple LTA (Macrodactyla doreensis) to replace my Heteractis crispa that gooified on me. They called and said it wasn't doing well and refused to ship it. They shipped the "Certified Captured Grown" Indigo Montipora digitata that I ordered with the LTA without a shipping charge. Very cool.

Remember I'm 45 minutes to an hour from an LFS so don't flame me for ordering on-line.

Let me know when you are ready to frag that digitata and I will come help you.

I was just using the liveaquaria for their pretty pics. I bought a Koralia 3 from NSA yesterday instead of trying to save $5 on the net. I am a hero.

I think I like it better than the Seio 820 it replaced. The Seio suction cups were failing and I didn't feel like spending another $30 for a mag mount. Not near as much velocity out of the Koralia, a wider flow that seems to be better in my tank.

I like schools of fish but don't have any yet. You might laugh but I am going to buy a school of Yellow Tail Damsels for my little corner tank. I think they are pretty together and they are cheap for sure.

No one is going to flame you for orderiing online, IMO it's the only way to get the really good stuff acro wise anyway, especially for me , I don't know how much gas I have waisted on trips to monroe and the lfs did not have a single item that was of intrest to me. My point why should I suport them they don't carry the livestock I want. Disclamer there are three lfs in Arkansas that do carry ORA's and walt smiths but It's cheaper for me to pay shipping than to purchas gas.

My mini-school of five chromis are neato. They're REALLY aggressive eaters and hover around the tangs like flies when the tangs are eating. They are only physically aggressive towards each other and only when they're relaxed. If they get spooked, they fly together like a reverse explosion.
