    Though one thing I have noticed is that my favia and chalice aren't as richly colored any more. is there anything in particular I should be feeding the tank to prevent this? the chalices' green is fading and the favia's red seems a little more shallow.

    Shade them some. Most chalice pieces and most Favia are mid-range light semi-high flow.
