Hey guys im looking for a mantis shrimp. Must be a spearer. Im willing to pay for it, but i dont want to pay what all the online supliers are charging for shipping. I prefer P. Cialata, but im sure there are other types out there that i would be fine with if you just gave me a heads up on what you can get/have... -me
I'm sorry, I don't know of anyone who has Mantis or wants one for that matter. I think NSA has one or has had one recently. Might check with them. I know most any of the LFS will order you one.
THey had a smasher (which is the most found) and the i dont want him because i will loose my CUC to him.
I have a small green mantis that came in with my live rock from florida. I am not sure of the exact kind though. he does look just like the Pseudosquilla ciliata but i cant say for sure. He has been banned to a 46 gallon tank with a damsel just for fear he might munch down on one of my beloved fishies. I have thought about setting up a species tank for him myself because they really are neat critters. I just feed him salad shrimp...of course with verrrry long tongs.
your just bragging tanga... and your pic is just a red x... and i would like to see him if you could post it up... and I have got in contact with a LFS and they are trying to get me one, but if it is a spearer and you would like to get rid of it i would GLADLY take him off your hands... Even if the LFS can get me one i would consider setting him up in another tank if you want him gone... -me
I dont have any pics of him, but i will try to get one if i can and post for you. He doesnt stay out much but i am certain his favorite meal will coax him out. predator are you coming to the meeting saturday at norman's?

Predator I cant believe you havent been able to get one locally. have you checked with northside the last time I was over there they had some. wow I didnt click on southernr link until just now. I second that, ken at sealifeinc is a great guy. I have ordered many rics, gorgonians and a brittle starfish from him w/no losses.
Check NSA again and ask for Scott. Someone brought one in but not sure which kind it was. Thinking it was a spearer-but not certain of it.
I tired NSA a few weeks ago... they said no go on it... and actually i gave up my search for a while... im going to start working on the platfor to lift my tank enough for piping... IFFFF someone runs across a spearer though keep me in mind... ill ser up temp housing if i have to... i appreciate yall looking out for me though... -me
They just got this one in a couple of days ago. It was in Mrs Hamilton's reef tank, she had a fit when she found it and I probably would have too. LOL
