Well, another expense incurred from going with the 120g instead of the 90g is a new skimmer. I don't think my Remora Pro can handle a 120g tank very well. What do you guys think about ASM skimmers? I'm looking at the ASM G3.

  2. I really liked the Euro Reef skimmers at the conference that use a needle wheel. My skimmer uses is a becket injector type and it works ok but I would not recommend them over the needle wheel.

ASM and Euroreef are needle wheel style skimmers, a needle wheel is a special type of impeller in the pump. I have a euroreef and a asm on my tanks at the moment and have been satisfied with them, they work well are are easy to operate.

But I went with a Becket style skimmer like Chris has, a My reef creations(MRC4 recirculation skimmer) which requires powerful pumps and become a bit noisy.

But yes ASM is a quality skimmer, the difference between them and Euro Reef is that ASM is less expensive, and they use a lesser grade acrylic.
