Reefer on the Rise

Well for starters, when I was younger (I'm 17 now) my father had had a small reef tank. So I have always been memorized by marine life. Looking on getting into marine biology aswell. Recently started a 60 gallon reef tank. It's been up since Christmas Day.

My filter setup so far is 2 marine land "on the back" filters
    A protein skimmer
An auto top off Ro/Di unit
    Uv stableizer light

Looking into having a mixed reef tank, but
Currently I have 2 clowns. A purple, green spotted mushroom. A flesh colored xena. And a bright green star polyp.

I've been thinking about a clean up crew? And a moray eel. Would they be safe to keep together. Such as animals as a serpent starfish, turbo snails. And a few hermit crabs. Or would the eel eat them? Can I even keep a eel in a 60gallon?

Aswell as keeping a coral beauty angle and a flame angle fish, could they work well in a 60 gallon tank together?

Last question would be, would I be able to keep other corals with an anemone, I dont have one yet. But I've been told they can easily kill other corals.

    Thanks

The anemone will be fine with corals as long as you give it space. They do move if they are unhappy but usually once it finds a spot it is difficult to get to move. Dwarf angelfish have been known to nip at corals sometimes so be careful on that front. If you are looking into buying some coral I will have some nice coral pieces for sale at the next meeting, check out my upcoming thread for more information. Happy reefing!

    Welcome to RRMAS!

A snowflake or golden dwarf moray would be ok in a 60 but crabs, snails and shrimp would probably be toast...especially with the snowflake. The dwarf golden only gets to 7-8" and might be ok with larger shrimp and big snails. The dwarf golden is pretty pricey though. Small fish would also be in danger with the snowflake.

    Hiya,

Eels, are also difficult to keep in a tank. I've known of snowflakes that have gotten out of their tanks.
