I don't follow much on hob skimmers anymore but last I checked aqua-c remora pros were pretty good. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
Hiya, I got the Octopus 1000-B, or at least I think that's the one. It has a surface skimmer. It's rated for a 90-100 gallon and I'm using it on a 75. The surface skimmer requires me to keep my tank full at all times or you run the chance of burning out the motor if goes dry. The pump is inside the tank and is a bit of an eye sore. I've only had it for 2 months and only made one change to it by removing the bubble defuser on the return. It was trapping loose material and probably creating nitrates. Another thing I'm concern about is there is a sponge in the return chamber that is difficult to get to. Not sure if this is going to be a nitrate issue or not. It took a bit to get it adjusted so the skim was good, but not it's not an issue. Kim/Benton, AR
