Kevin, do you guys still have this skimmer available? If so, do you think it would work okay for a 36 gal?
I'm running one on a 90 gallon. I moved up to a mag 7 pump that I modded. It works awesome. I have actually walked into the garage and had my sump covered in foam where it ran over. I got it hanging in my sump (wet dry converted to sump) from the middle partition so the whole ting is in the sump.
What if that HOB skimmer was actually hanging on the back of the tank? All that nasty would be on your floor. Another great reason for a sump !!!
I have an idea. All you have to do is get a cone shape piece of plastic cut it down one side and at the bottom cut a hole the size of your skimmer mold it around your skimmer on a angle seal it with silicone, then any water that over flows the skimmer would go back into the tank.
Norman, I totally agree. It was a leftover from my 46 before I ran a sump. I just didn't see the need in getting another if it still worked. I would NEVER go sumpless again.
