My three year old 24 aqupod only thing I have done to it is add an extra pump from my nano cube 12 after the hood stoped working, think it was the balisc went out and tank crash put my sand and Live rock and the one mushroom into the 24 about three years ago and I also cut the cover over the lights open last year because it got really opaque. I was worried about the water heating up after i cut it open but it stays at 80 all day and night. Just got some snals to clean off the back wall thay have started and are doing a good job. Also picked up a small frag of doncon coral at the LFS said would live if I keep the water changed. Glad I found RRMAS Because even though I have had a tank up and running for over three years I still feel like I just am just starting and reading over the forum has started to help.

Like the live rock thing I have 10 to 14 pounds I can't rember the number and I have been reading that I need more like 24 pounds will there be any room left for corals? lol I also got some JoesJuice about 2 years ago but my wife said she dident mind the Aiptasia so I havent used on them as you can see.

Well hopfuly I can do better with my 24 over the next 3 years.

7-28-2010 My son helped me add 2 x 23 = 46 watts of PC light 6500K hope it helps don't know if 6500K will help grow coral or not The one on the right is with the extra light. so now I have 110 watts. With the 6500K it is a little more yellow now even more so then the photo shows but I think my camera is changing it.

You can see the right side where the two new bulbs are, and back of the tank is more bright now even the sand is brighter down the glass.

Added More light..... 24 3w high power Cree LEDs, 2 moon strips, and One more 26w 6500K (100w equivalent bulb). I think I am up to 250W MH levels now. [IMG] Hope to be able to keep some more of the higher light corals Now.
    Thanks Glen

Did some horse (Coral trading) with Norman yesterday and he said he would like to see what the corals look like under just the Cree LEDs.
So here you go Norman, just the Cree LEDs are on (NO photo shopping other then resizing) with my camera set at the little flower setting what ever that is?
Had fun with you Norman thanks for getting me a piece of that Blue tort I wanted?
    Glen
dumb shrimp been behind the big rock  since I put him and two others in there, they just Hide in the back so fare and I got true peppermints too. Maybe after awhile they will come out, I don't think they like being stung by the anemones that are to big to eat.

  11. Nice additions and the new lights should really help grow out those pretty corals - thanks for sharing with the forum !

Glad you had a good time swaping corals. Your tank looks great. Hpoe they grow out well and give you some nice colonies. Stop by anytime and hope to see you in Memphis. The chalice frags are looking nice, Hope they do as well as the others I have.

    Re: Norahs_dad's aqua pod 24 July 12th 2010

Every thing looked great Norman this mooring but the blue tort has turned white about 1/4 of an inch up from the base where we fraged it and glued it yesterday, hope it pulls throw and that is just a normal reaction from fresh fragging and gluing anyone know?
If they go bad isn't it usually from the top down or out side in,  not the bottom up?
    Thanks Glen

Glenn, there is sometimes a little dieback from the fragging since we used the cutters and not the saw. From the pic, I think it will be fine and will begin to heal. If you think there is a problem with it just let me know and I will get you another.
