Here's my new kalk reactor. It's plumbed in-line with the RO/DI autotopoff. All it needs is a pound of Mrs Wages Pickling Lime (<$3.00/lb) every month or two.

That looks pretty neat Joe. I will be interested to see how your tank parms run with it. What controls the power head to stir it, a regular old light timer?

I had to send my one-week-old Reefkeeper 2 controller back to Digital Aquatics for repair so right now the pump is plugged in periodically to run for a few minutes.

Congrads Joe, A kalk reactor is a great addition to your system.

    Joe,

One of the things you may want to do is have your controller monitor the Ph and if it gets too high have it stop your top off pump. Just to prevent an overdose...

I agree, when you get the controller back having it stop the top off from running will keep you from cooking the tank.

OK " geniuses  ", any of you guys have the skills to help me design and install a by-pass or something so the top-off will function but by-pass the kalk reactor when the pH is too high -- automatically?
