Kathy and I are going on a cruise in Hawaii in April. Does anyone have anything you consider a must-see destination in Hawaii besides the normal tourist stuff?
Here's the itinerary: Day Port Mon Honolulu Tue Hilo Wed, Thu Maui (Kahului) Fri Kona Sat, Sun Kauai Mon Honolulu Plus we'll be staying one more day in Honululu.
Do you need someone to take photos for you? I would love to go to Hawaii, LOL. I know that you both will have a great time.
get a map and drive the perimiter of the island. stop at the civilian part of bellows air force base, there's a nice wooded beach there, also drive the pali hwy and the like like (leaky leaky) hwy. be sure to go to the north shore, haliewa, sunset beach and that general area. The surf and sunset is nice to watch there, it's touristy but still nice because its so far from the hustle and bustle of waikiki. there's a nice set of water falls there too, i forget where though, but i'm sure you can get directions. at night time even if its touristy its hard to beat waikiki, walk the sidewalks down by the beach, go to dukes bar if you like that sort of thing. don't forget your umbrella and/or a dry change of clothes if you're going to be outside much, it rains somewhere on the island nearly everyday.
Kathy and I got back late yesterday and are exhausted. Ever go on vacation and have to take time off to recover?
It would be great if you can do the outdoor stuff like hiking, snorkeling, zip-line, etc. The helicopter tours are wonderful.
