There is some discussion on the web committee forum about money spent for the web site and membership issues. At the risk of incuring the wrath of Chris, I would suggest a membership committee. Even a club as nonfunctioning as MASNA has a membership committee. If memory serves me correctly I believe Kathy agreed at one of our past meetings to send out notification letters for dues renewal until the software had been worked out on the web site. I feel with the positions of Sec. and Tres. these offices should chair the membership committee since the Sec. already keeps the records of meetings and membership rolls, and the Tres. keeps records of money collected this is a good match. I would be glad to be on this committee as I send out welcome notices to new members already. I know I'm going to hear that the committees should not be forced on anyone, but just because you chair the committee it dosen't mean you have to do all the work, just make sure it gets done. This membership renewal is a big issue in this growing club and I hope we can come together with suggestions as to how to resolve this issue.
As for the money spent on the web design and software, I am not qualified to make decisions in that area, but I have confidence in the committee to keep me informed and make the correct decisions for the club. Our club is growing and there are going to be changes needed and the quality of our web site should be first rate. We have the money to do the things we need and have several events in the future that generate money for us. Our committee structure is in it's infancy and as soon as they get established and working together we should be better able to confront issues like this in a timely manner.

I think a membership committee is a good idea.
