Make-up Water

What do you guys do to create make-up water for your tanks? RO/DI filters? Buy from a store? Use plain tap water?

Who all has auto-top-off systems?

 

Tap Water Purifier. It's just a carbon filter and DI cartridge.

 

Distilled at the moment, but going to RO real soon.

 

typhoon 3 hooked to an autotop off device for topping off and hooked to a float valve on a 32 gallon brute trashcan. then i heat it to temp and mix in 8lbs 10 oz of salt and let it mix until i need it.

 

I am using a 4 stage RO/DI unit that I purchased from a guy in Canada on Ebay about 4 years ago. It has worked flawlessly and I purchase a case of replacement filters for it that are just now running out. I think that I paid about 150 for the unit and 50 for the case of replacment cartridges. You can't beat it any where. He now sells them with a storage tank that you can hook up to your kitchen sink and get water for every day use as well.

I searched Ebay and found this guy = couldn't find my Canada guy. I hope I can still get replacements.

Was it a brand called Aqua-Safe? I got my 4-stage filter on eBay as well. My TDS is 47 for tapwater and 2ppm filtered.

Isn't that like a flux capacitor?

 

If it is a flux capacitor I hope that it works better than the one they created in the movie. Maybe it has been improved over the years.
