Been there, done that, got the t-shirt! 8) Works great. My sand be was looking a little rough, but afterward the greeen had turned brown and the hermits mad short work of it. I cleaned the film from the glass with the magnet scraper before lights out, and then right after lights on. During the lights out period my clam reoriented to face the living room window. I thought that was funny. I recommend 3 days the first time and then 2 days afterwards. If you have some stressed corals (RTN, receding tissue, etc.) don't go the full 3, just 2.
