Hey guys i learned about you from a buy at North Side Aquatic (which I'm verry impressed with and very glad i found, also yall are prolly gonna get tired of seeing me there because i get bored alot and browse alot)... Im new to SW and i have a 10 gallon tank that is intended for a P. ciliata. It's been up and runninig since early Dec. and i'm really excited about getting back into the hobby... Ive had a 10 gallon FW for most of my life and kept a 55 gallon BW G. Tile tank for about 2 years. (unfortunately i lost my eels during a period of moving here and there). I decided i wanted a challenge so a small SW would be nice and found mantises and thought thats it... So far everythin seems to be going good, but im full of questions and have a craving to learn what i can... here is a pic of my tank right when i started to cycle it... I'm getting over my cyno infestation and things are finally starting to look alot better... My Equip: 10 gallon 20" 28 Watt Coralife PC Fission Nano skimmer (im playing with it to see if i can get it to work better) 25 Watt stealthe heater Rio Mini 50 Power head (66 gph) Live stock: 2 Blue Legged Hermits 3 Scarlet Legged Hermits 1 Turbo Snail 2 Astreae Snails 3 Cerith 3 Nerite 3 Nassarius I want to build a Sump/Fuge eventually, but im not really on my game when it comes to acrylics so i have to learn that, but that y im here... to learn... There's no way to undelete so please just go ahead and create a new account. We have so many accounts that are setup just for SPAM that we have to delete that this happens occasionally. Thanks for understanding.
as of today my battle with cyno seems to be over... and everything is cleaned up... sadly I lost my turbo snail (who I had decided to keep) to a hermit attack (blue leg of course)... so i am now down 2 in my clan up crew since Homocidal Hermy is locked away... FREE HERMY!!! he's not happy, but ask me if I care... Hes lucky i built him a cage instead of hitting him with a baseball bat... As you can tell everything is comming along ok... sadly my tank is getting quite cluttered (and i hate the way it looks right now...), but im still looking into a sump... I really just need to find someone that would build the sump I want for a reasonable price (good luck right?)... I should be getting a few more things in later this week... so ill keep yall informed as it goes... and to answer a question... No i dont have the mantis yet... I'm waiting on a shipment from a supplier... I might start checking around with some ppl and try to get one cheaper... Ordering one will cost SOOOO much on shipping... -me
That is how she sits right now... im gonna build a platform for it in the next few weeks and get ready to drill and rearrange it.... Im not happy with how it looks now so im gonna have to do a lil research on getting it to look like i want it to... I want more height but i dont want it to look too full so im thinking about a nice LR arch to fill it up with out weighing it down... -me
