Did everyone survive Ike OK? We have been without power now since sat. night and they say it may be friday or saturday before we get power, Lukily we have been on generator power and been able to keep the tank going, So far everything is doing good, we have to turn the power off when we leave the house but try not to leave it off much over 5 hours at a time. I stayed home yesterday and manned the generator and finally had to head to work today, Tonya is going to work half days until power is back so the tank won't be down to long, only thing I've noticed was this morning the tank temp was down to 77 were it's normally around 81, but I think it will all be fine as long is it doesn't drop much lower,
I still can't believe we had a tropical storm in arkansas.

Glad the tank is doing well. I then thought about the freezers.....Hows the beef?? If there is anything I can do to help please call.

Thanks Fisher12, the beef is doing good, actually two other families that don't have power have there food stored at are house right now. With two freezers and two refrigrators and the fish tank I was putting a pretty good strain on the generator so I borrowed a big pto driven generator yesterday and now the only thing we can't do is the clothes dryer and ac.
only real pain has been manning the generator and just keeping an eye on things to make sure nothing starts to go wrong, Tonya called when she got home awhile ago and said the tank had dropped to 74 degrees so now we have all the tank lights on and heater going to try and get the temp more stable. But over all we have been doing good, having neighbors over and grilling steak every night[IMG]

I've had a few of those grilling sessions myself, had the t-bone and rib steaks at my daughters last night. Glad things are working out with the generator. Keep us posted.

    Still no power[IMG]

Hopefully today, but I've been thinking that for four days now, but we are seeing entergy crews in are area, If no power today I'm heading back home to help Tonya with things, and burn another day of vacation. The tank is still doing good, we got the temp back up to around 78 degrees and everbody seems happy, the new sea horses I got last weekend actually seem to like it better when the lights are out.
The generator has been a life saver, I would highly recommend to anybody that has a tank to keep some type of power backup, because you never know when something like this will happen, and if it weren't for the generator I'm sure my tank would be gone by now.

Well it's day five now with still no power, can't believe it's been out this long, did not see any entergy crews in the area yesterday, guess they had more important areas to work on. We are still on generator power and even have a spare handy just in case one goes down. Tank is doing fine we are running the generator full time now so the animals don't even know there's issues.
We plan to be at the meeting saturday but I just found out Tonya has to work untill 11 am that day, so we will be arriving late, unless I come without her. We'll see. I have a lot of frags I need to get together to bring, but not sure if I will get the time to do much fragging with all the power issues going on.

Neighbors just called and said the power is finally back on.[IMG]
Finally maybe things can get back to normal again.
I think I'll go home and turn everything on in the whole house,
    just because now I can[IMG]

Glad to hear you guys finally have power! We need to get a generator, it scares me everytime the power is out for any length of time. I have a couple uninterruptable power supplies with my power heads on them, so they run a while, but the frag tank doesn't.

Yea we have had a few outages, but only for 6 hours or so, nothing major since the big ice storm years ago, but it seems are weather is changing, we have had three outages this year so far do to wind. There's no way I would go without a generator, it seems like a small investment compared to what we would lose if the tank crashed. and I'm sure all would have been lost being without power for this long. I'm seriuosly looking into a backup system that would come on automatic if power was lost, just for a piece of mind if we are gone on vacation for a week and something happens.
