Some more coral pics (and the diatoms are driving me crazy!) Pink birdnest frag Pink birdnest mother colony This one is doing so much better under the 400 watt light than the 175 in the frag tank. A not so in focus shot of my Pocillipora I posted another one like this, but this acan shot came out pretty good to me.
The corals look like they are liking the tank. Your just going through new tank syndrome, my refuge is doing the samething, just have to wait it out and not disturb it other then to syphon some out when doing water changes, just don't want to help spread it.
+1 Sorry to hear about the triggers Beautiful Coral !!! Read a post other day said diatoms in a new tank, like acne, just a phase we all went through & then out grew
My powder brown doesnt have the red or orange in its tail like yours and Jordans does that represent male or female or maturity?
I am really not sure Mushroom. It may mean yours is still in its juvenile state like you said. Thanks Nano!!
My powder brown has just recently gotten those colorations. I think it would be the age of the fish.IMO
I was just wondering I think I have read too much LOL. I was just looking for something online to tell me when or if it would come and found one site that had me thinking these were two diffrent types of tangs. http://animal-world.com/encyclo/marine/tangs/japonicus.php Sorry ibassfsh maybe should have started another thread!! And yes thats a great looking tank, all of them are a must see in person to appreciate. For the photo contest I will have to come to your house and sneek some pics.
AH HA---Someone stretching the rules on the first day.............Good try, but now we're on to your tactics.!!! We are a sharp group. Glad to see some interest in the photo contest so soon. This may even get me to pull the camera out and give it a shot or two.
On May 14th 2010 My wife Cindy and I drove to Searcy Arkansas to purchase and break down John (Fishermann's) tank. We did not purchase the aquarium or other equipment. We just picked up all of his live rock, corals, and fish. I was a sad day for me as John is a good friend, and I know the pain he was in dismantling his beloved tank. I wish John and his wife Linda the best of luck in their move back to their home state. I hope to keep everything in good shape for him. All corals were removed from the tank and put in Rubbermaid tubs. We actually made it all the way back to Fort Smith without breaking any of the corals. All fish survived the short trip also. My tanks are bursting at the seams with all of the added stuff. I have to re aqua scape the new 215 for sure. For those of you that have seen our sump system, they are both slam full of live rock. Some with corals on them still. I will have to take more pictures, but here are some parting shots of John's tank prior to taking it down.
Thanks both of you, I am really happy knowing that they have a good home. Beside some of them were frags I got from you, although not nearly the size you got back, good luck and one day you two well get a phone call wanting some frags shipped overnite.
