I have sun coral for sale or trade

Discussion in 'Buy/Sell/Trade' started by NatalieMadison, Feb 11, 2017.

  1. I can already tell that night time feeding is not going to my thing. I'm imagining that this is what it's like to have a newborn.

I have both pieces puffing out when I get up at 6am right now, but neither the black suncoral nor the peach eagerly eat. I've tried mysis and reef chili. Reef chili wakes them up. The black coral slowly takes in the mysis. Only the babies on the peach colony fully extend right now. They like reef chili.

Any early risers or night owls out there interested in taking these off my hands at the meeting on Feb 18th? (Or sooner).

    Do you still have these?

  5. I do still have them. I will tell you that I thought I was prepared to take care of them, but these guys take a lot of dedication and patience. With the constant feeding, it also mucks up the water quality quite a bit.

Interestingly my orange suncoral spawned and I now have little babies everywhere

I think I may continue working them. I do have a large colony of the Orange, though. If you are interested in giving them a try, I could bring it to the March meeting and see if John wouldn't mind carving them in half.

If you bring it, I will frag it.

Cool! I'd love to give them a try! I have one I stupidly dipped like I did my zoas and nearly killed the poor thing ... It has one tiny baby and half a large head ... it's slowly but surely recovering. Looks pretty sad still though. Now I know better though. I feed mine a little squirt of reef roids and it seems to like it. All of the little tentacles close up around it and slowly open back up after a bit. That is ... if you trust me with it!

  9. I'll bring the Orange to the meeting.

I dipped both of mine without any change. What did you use? I use a combo of coralrx and seachems reef dip. I'm not quite sure how to buy and apply bayer, but I've heard that it works great but it is stout.

I used hydrogen peroxide. I was being quite aggressive with everything ... I then bought some coral Rx and go exactly by the directions and have had good luck with recent corals.
