So last night I notice my dog has these red bumps below his nose and a few on his chin. They were not there two days ago for sure so I'm freaking out a bit. I couldn't get an appointment to see the vet till Friday so I"m asking everyone I can think of incase there is anything I can do preventative wise until I can get to the vet. He has been on nutri-source grain free bison for a month now and before that he was eating the same brand only the puppy formula. Only eats grain free treats and very rarely gets table scraps. He is a 9 month old mutt (Maltese, Yorkie, Pomeranian) Stays inside when I'm home, and outside in the back yard when I'm in class or at work, so about 8 hours a day. Sleeps in a kennel From google images I think it might be dog acne but I read those can also be mistaken for a non-contagious form of mange, puppy strangles (which my GF's dog had so I can confirm it's not that), and something else (I can't remember the name of it) If anyone has an idea what so ever, or can point me in a direction so I can do everything I can till Friday please let me know, I'm really freaked out about it.
Re: Help! My dog is sick and I can't get to the vet till fri Try vetricyn. Some triple anti biotic. My dog had this last year. Raffle grabber
Re: Help! My dog is sick and I can't get to the vet till fri I would say allergic reaction. Clean them good with a little betadine and Peroxide and it should be okay till Friday. If you feed from plastic bowls, stop.. Use glass or Stainless.
Re: Help! My dog is sick and I can't get to the vet till fri Intereting, his stainless bowls are in a box somewhere at the new house so for the last four days or so I've been using some plastic bowls for food and water, thanks for the heads, up I'll un pack the stainless ones tomorrow morning. also Thanks for all the advice everyone, the redness is going away and it's now more of a brown color, and they are not as large. A friend of mine is a vet tech and says he thinks they are indeed dog acne, I've washed the area a few times and given him some benadryll.
