Yes it is Doc. They nave been like that for several months now. That clam closed a few weeks ago and broke off a small frag.

  2. eBay sells filters, takes out the blue and makes it closer to what your eyes see. They're like 6 bucks.

I figured I would share that the red one has a green growth ring around. The green one is coloring up real nice. Also, I played with taking pictures through my shooting glasses.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

  5. Great looking coral! These are the ones from the Miami vendor right? What was the price per piece on those? I'm feeling another group buy coming ;)

Yes they are. These three and a frag is what I got when I did the blind buy. It was $250 shipped. Right now she has no colonies but should have more frags this week. Her supplier that gets the colonies has been unable to get colonies.

  7. AquaSD still has frag packs for sale. 10 for $100. I know the club has gone through them before and I've seen several of Sean D's stuff that came from them. There doesn't seem to be a ton of interest in SPS, but we could do a big group buy from them and get three packs: SPS, LPS, and Zooas. Just having 6 people in would only be $50. At the $300 point shipping is free. The more the better, spread those frags around!

Also, reef2reef has several vendors frequently advertising, but most of their frags are super expensive for tiny pieces. I found a sponsor, "Fraghouse Corals," that seems to have some nice looking coral at decent prices. Decent meaning most are under $50. Thats an option if no interest in ASD.

My only thought on the blind buy, or ASD type of purchase is you don't know what your getting. I'm running out of real estate and getting picky about what I want. Any thoughts appreciated!

Fraghouse Corals will be at the show this weekend. I was talking to them a few days ago on Facebook

I would definitely buy again from the Miami source. The maricultured colony that I got had great polyp extension from the get go and has held its color very well.

  10. The Miami colonies look great! I'm thinking with shipping the per piece price was around 85-88 dollars. Is there a way to specify colors are types. Sometimes wild pieces come with acro crabs, any way they could be on the look out for thoseā€¦..meaning I want some.

The reason I suggested the ASD was simply to allow others to join in on the fun of a group buy. Maybe with all the great pics more will want to try the SPS group buy next time.

  11. John I assume your going with intent to purchase, any chance I could get you to pick me up something? I could send money to you via paypal or something. Plus I need to bring you your portion of DD piece soon. :D

I talked to the Florida connect last night about a group buy. I was thinking about 5 people for $500 total and 10 colonies. $600 was the cheapest price so that is $120 each. Regardless, still no colonies but should get a bunch of SPS frags tomorrow or Wednesday.

I'm good with ASD, I've gotten some good stuff from them. I'm like you though getting pretty tight on real estate and looking for just a few outstanding pieces.

  16. I've been looking for a tyree pink lemonade for a while. I'll email fraghouse, there are a couple listed on their site that I would like!

Another option is to ask who is bringing one on the corals for charity Facebook page.

  18. I don't have Facebook. That's a great suggestion though!

  19. John and I discovered a new website, www.reefnation. They have high end prices like other vendors but many of there sps are quite reasonable. Something to consider. At some point we should give them a try! Maybe they could discount at so many pieces or something?
