tonight i was lookin at my tank and i noticed something on the glass i went to nudge it with this plastic tube i have and it moved really funny i go to chase it down and keep it on the glass so i can see what it is and it comes off the glass and it clicked in my head flatworm i tried to get it with my turkey baster but it got away. my question is are flatworm egg casing oval to round shape and do they look white with yellow stuff on the inside. i have a few of them on my tank and on some pieces of rock? i just wanna know so if i can prevent a large outbreak i can get started on cleaning those rocks off and scraping my glass. It looks like baby snails to me. The second picture looks like flatworms but it also looks like the camera jumped when the photo was snapped. Look at this and see if that is what it is.

You may need to use a magnifying glass for a positive ID.

  3. Unfortunatly, I know quite a bit about flatworms as I have lived with them for the past several years. They are not typically white with yellow center and there eggs would not be visible to the naked eye if infact they reproduce sexually. They are redish brown and are shaped alot like the second picture that you took when the picture jumped. They are by no means fast either, infact you would have to mark the glass and come back 30 minutes later to tell that it had moved at all.

If you do have flat worms they are very very difficult to get rid of, if not next to impossible. Flat worm exit does work but the dieing flatworms are very noctious to your tank hence why there are very few animals that find them taste.
