Hey everyone! I am going out of town early Tuesday Morning and will not be back until Friday night. I have never left a tank before. Is it neccessassary to feed the tank while I am gone?

  2. IMO - you should be ok... but that is about as long as you should go I would think...

The coral should be fine, I have read fish can start starving after 4 days. Sure some other members will post back some ideas... if possible, have some one feed them once. When I am gone, I put my food in little plastic zip lock bags, so they don't over feed & then have whoever is tank sitting for me, feed them my pre-measured amounts.

It would be good to have someone feed the fish at least wed. evening if you can find someone. I have had someone feed my tank if I'm going out of town for more than three days.

I agree that feeding could be missed for that period of time without any problems. The fish and other critters can find food in the tank if it has been established for a few months. If possible test your tank and write down the parimeters before you leave and then again on your return before you feed. I believe your water quality will improve. Just my opinion. Also it is a good idea to have someone at least look in on the tank daily even if you don't want them to feed, and the pre measured bags is a good idea if you do. Check water levels and notify you of any noticable problems.
