I thought while I had my tanks down I would drill my 46.  I would like to drill the top back and do a calfo style overflow.  Anybody got an idea what the chances are the back of my 46 bow is drillable?

There are a number of youtube videos on how to use phone / pc / polarized filter / polarized sunglasses to check the glass.

Well I cruised the website of the store I bought the tank at, got the brand, checked the manufacturer website and only the front curved panel of the tank is tempered.  Ordered my hole saw from glass-holes.com and it should be here in a few days.  Then me and my son shall undertake the very serious business of punching holes.

Hole saw came in today....complete with three jolly ranchers and a bumper sticker.  We are gonna drill sometime this week so I'll let ya know how it goes.

Well I got two out of the three holes drilled for my calfo in the 46.  My hands are shaking so hard I can barely type....you talk about being nervous!  Anyway, I'm saving the last hole for tomorrow night....figure as my luck has it shaking so bad I'll bust on the third one if I do it now, lol.  Wish me luck.

Well I got the last hole drilled.  For anyone thinking of drilling a tank my advice is check for temper and go for it.  Take your time, let the weight of the drill do the work....took me 3+ minutes per hole.  glass-holes.com has good saws reasonably priced and you can get your bulkheads at the same time.
