I've actually had these jellyfish like creatures in my tank for 3 months. I didn't know what they were until recently. Has anyone had bad experiences with these? I've read many articles and some people say they are harmless and some say they are terrible. The only place they grow atm is on my purple acropora colony. When I first noticed them I had about 20-30 and some even on snails and etc. However, over the months, the numbers have dwindled greatly. Less then a dozen on the acropora colony. I find it sometimes that the hydroid grabs the food in the water column and the acropora also seems to benefit from it as well cause it will grab the other end. However, the hermits come along and just rip it right out of them.

My overall experience with these creatures is that they don't seem too harmful. The acropora actually seems happy with them. So I leave them alone.

I used to have a bunch and now don't have any. I think they will control themself.
