Sailfin blenny? Fell for the old reflection in the CD trick! My wifes version of look there's a sea turtle.
A few pics from todays dive and a video. Rock Beauty angel fish pair with a juvie Stoplight Parrot fish on the right. Lion fish eating yellow tip anemone (our dive master feed it a small Lion fish he speared) A huge and ugly sea hare/cucumber. A pair of Queen Angels. Greg needs these in his tank.
Juvie Atlantic Blue tang Some kind of pipefish. Small school of yellow fin snapper. Blue Head Wrasse.
A few from this morning's dives. A better pic of a Queen angel. Really beautiful fish. A huge Parrot fish. Pair of File fish....not the aiptasia eating kind. These guys were almost two feet. A really big spine lobster we found in a cave. These beautiful purple sponges are every where, so are the smaller yellow ones.
This damsel fish was being tormented by the Atlantic Blue tang. There must be millions of these tangs judging by how many you see on every dive. Sea fans underneath a ledge. Lion fish. The dive masters kill 'em all. How would you like this Trigger fish in your nano?
We are having a blast! 4 dives tomorrow! This is a video from this morning at Punta Tunich. It's a drift dive and the current was pretty fast this AM. We saw this Hawksbill sea turtle and he posed for pictures. http://youtu.be/G9J_PbRE-gE The next link is a swim through at La Francesa and big Spiney Lobster hiding out in there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUdXCwwYzz0 Last video is a short one just around the corner from the first video. Yellowfin snapper. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UN9q9ad6mfs
Nurse shark video from the last dive. She just layed there and let me swim right above her. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kseQKckmBCQ A couple of nice nems with a small arrow crab at the lower right French angels eating the sponges the turtle was pulling off. A beautiful purple brain This Queen Trigger was eating a scallop and a snapper, Parrot fish, yellow head wrasse, 5 lightening wrasse and two banded butterfly fish were cleaning up his mess.
This is the predominant SPS on this reef. It is a nice pink color in real life. Is it a stylo or birdsnest? The second most common SPS was a birds nest that looks just like a Ponape. This was a huge brain coral. I got the other diver to get next to it to give it perspective. He's not touching it I promise. Scribbled file fish.
