    glad to here she's better!

She should pull through! It's nice to hear that you treat your fish with such consideration.

Nice to hear. I did a post on reef central on the fish desease forum asking about melafix and pimafix, so far haven't received much info. Am interested in these two products. Most things that don;t contain meds are snake oil, but the melafix seems to have actually worked. Bacterial infections can be so fast acting, it is nice to hopefully have cured her. Thanks, I know they are just fish and we carch and eat fish all the time but these are caught not to feed us but to entertain us and we owe it to them to do everything we can to treat them right[IMG].

    Melafix Follow Up

I was using it on my 75 gallon. I have mainly soft and LPS corals. Ihave a frogspawn with about 6 heads a large montipora and variousxenia, soft corals and zoa's. I use the product just like thedirections said. I ended up using about a bottle and a half over abouta 7 day period. The fish's eye reduced dramatically within 3 days. Idid not see any ill effects in the aquarium. Usually I can tell whensomething is a miss in my aquarium because my xenia will start actingquarky or stop pulsating. I know that sounds odd but it has alwaysworked for me. It is amazing how they react to changes in waterquality. The only bad part is that you can not your protein skimmerduring the process. If you do you will end up with a sump full of suds.I did minimal feedings while I was dosing and did frequent waterchanges for a few weeks after and filtered with a bag of carbon in mysump. Since then my fish has been back to normal and no more cases ofpop eye. I would use it again personally, I am not sure if it wouldwork for everyone but I think it is worth a try. You could try for aday and if you notice any crazy changes do some water changes. I amsure you are like me you can tell when something is not right just bywatching your corals. Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks Ben for the followup, glad to hear the clown made it and it is something to consider in the future when they can't be removed.

Always good to hear when a medication is helpfull. There are so few I would consider using, but this may be one I would try.
