Cal and Bri's 75..........again.....

Well since breaking down and drilling our tank we are finally setting it back up. Got water in it and the cycle started, I can't seem to get the right plumbing fittings even though I've gone back to lowes 3 times ( rolling eyes ) so it's not "running" as of yet. Here are a couple pics as of now. Will update when I do something constructive.

lol yea I think it's because the sand that is in there sat in a 5 gallon bucket for about 6 weeks, then I rinsed it the night before it went in the tank so everything probably was dead on it when I put it in there.

My main goal is to NOT have aiptasia in this system. They got completely out of control in the 40 breeder I have setup, don't wanna do that again.

But it's kinda funny, I plan on cultivating aiptasia in that system now though lol. I am going to order some berghia nudibranchs online and keep a system setup specifically for aiptasia growth and nudibranch breeding.

Hopefully I can be successful at it that way RRMAS and it's members can be aiptasia free in the future!!!

LOL yea, can't remember where I got it.....

No updates as of yet, still cycling, the ammonia was down to .5 ppm a couple days ago, but the nitrite was still around oh ........ astronomical

I did get the right plumbing fitting though, so it should be "running" before too much longer, hopefully tonight.

 

Here is the rock work as of now and the latest test results. Looks like the cycle's almost over.

As far as the overflow, I wish we had drilled another hole...

It's working well, just not as much as I had hoped for. Still having to throttle a Mag 7 down a little.
