I got my BioCube a week ago, and i'm very happy with it. Its the new BioCube, made with all the modifications of the old one in mind. The back of the tank has three chambers and the second one is designed to be used as a refugium. It has an acrylic(?) rectangle in the back to mount a light, the tank also comes with the BioCube skimmer. The biggest difference in the tank is that it has a 150W MH and a glass top. I plan on growing all SPS corals and because of the small size, most will be "Limited Edition" corals I can find frags of within my local club (DFWMAS). Hopefully I can order up a MP10 soon, Any idea on if its worth getting the wireless controller? Supposedly its better. I plan on having a black and white Ocellaris. (visitors love seeing clown fish, but would like to get one a little different), The next fish I would add would be a Six Line. if I don't change my mind about having only two fish. Ill put up some pictures of the tank, along with some pictures of the modifications Ive made to help keep the tank cool. Please let comment with any suggestions, or questions.

Info about each picture is underneath each one. (I sometimes miss this on other post)

I intended the order of the pictures to be the other way, but oh well. Also I lied about the Info about the picture being below it, its above. [IMG]

Any Idea about the Ecotech Vortech? It looks like they only make them with the EcoSMART driver now. Do you think the MP10 would be good for my tank? I know there are cheaper wave makers, is the Vortech worth it in your opinion?

    Thanks-Robby

Thanks, ill order one up soon. Do you think that the extra $50 is worth the wireless controller. (I know its really just a personal choice, doesn't effect the performance).

  12. I would save the $50... but just just me. The original mp10 still great.

The New MP10 with the EcoSmart controller can be upgraded to be a MP10w, you buy the wireless module and plug it in.

The wireless part of it allows you to "connect" more than one MP10w together to synchronous (or asynchronous) functions. Meaning they will ramp up and down together or opposite each other.

If you are just going to use one, just get the MP10 with ecosmart and if you decide to get another one get the MP10w for your second one and grab a wireless module to make your other one wireless.

I love my Vortechs! I am going to get an ecosmart upgrade to make my Older MP20 an MP40w EcoSmart, then when my wallet recovers upgrade the controller on my regular MP40w to the ecosmart.

I think I understand, so the controller isn't really wireless? As in i cant walk around the room and still control it?

I would like to mount the controller in my stand, and it would be best if it doesn't have wires.

Right the Controller and external Motor part have wires... The controller has a cable that is connected directly to the dry side motor and a power connection.

Take a look at the EcoTech Marine site http://ecotechmarine.com

    They have a How-to page. http://ecotechmarine.com/customer-service/how-to-videos/

Watch a few of the vids. You could drill a small hole in the back of your stand, open up the controller box, unplug the motor from the board, feed it through the hole, and plug it back in. Now you have the controller mounted in the stand :)

I wish I had an MP10 that I could let you use. I think you would love it!

I am really excited about the new addons for the reef controllers (Neptune Apex, and DA ReefKeeper) that allow you to control your Vortechs from it.

I also run an MP20 on my Biocube 29 tank. I wouldn't trade it for another pump/wavemaker out there right now.
