Hello everyone. I have been looking for a automatic standby generator and was just wondering if anyone has any experience installing one. We are on First Electric and our power goes out on a daily basis. Most of the time it is brief but there are also times it goes out for hours for no reason. I mean no wind, not a cloud in the sky, nothing. We have a portable generator that we keep having to pull out and run cords to all my tanks in various room which is a pain . Also a portable generator is only good if you are there to hook it up it was for this reason I didnt take a vacation this year. So far we have been lucky because when I am at work my husband is home. Before we go to MACNA I will have one in place so this will not be an issue. My husband has alot of electrical experience, heck we wired our entire house during construction, but is just wondering what all is involved in setting up the automatic transfer switch. I appreciate any input for those that have experience with this.
We have one of the Gererac Guardians at my office. It took an electrician about 45 min to hook it up so it shouldn't be difficult.
wow that good to know. I am sure once he gets the Schematics to which ever one we get I am sure he will be fine. Thanks.
my brother sells generators but i dont know if it will be overkill for what u are tryin to do ill give him a call and ask him what he can do.
That would be nice wouldnt it. We are looking at about a 10k watt. That should easily run the whole house and all the tanks with no problem.
