I have one, ran it for a year, then took it down during the move. I took the media out of the three bottom containers and put them in zip lock bags (I have no idea why I did this). Now I need to set it back up. Do I need to replace the media? Will only the aquasafe brand work in them? Should I just buy a new bigger gph model and start over?

This is what it looks like.

i would weigh the costs of replacing the media vs the price of a new one.

  3. Heather, I have this exact system and ran out of my case of replacement filters that had lasted three years. I only paid 55.00 for a case of 20 filters (5 of each kind), I hope that I find them again. I'll let you know what I find. I would definitly replace them.

Most RO/DI units use 10inch filters which are universal. One thing you should also consider replacing is the membrane, IF it dried out.

Do you guys wait til the TDS rises above 0 or do you change out the cartridges at certain intervals? Also, do you change everything or just the carbon and DI stages?
