I recommend using a mag float. You can find them at most LFS and you don't have to stick your hands in the tank to clean all the time.
Thanks, we have several, including the Mag-Float, but there isn't room to clean a seven gallon nano stuffed with rock and coral. Three sexy shrimp, a pom pom crab and a "feeder" shrimp, daily water changes, HOB canister. There is an algae film that I clean daily.
