    I am thinking about redoing the over flow, with a glass box style overflow and stand pipe.

    Grimmett, Yea it sound like a flushing toilet, I quietened it alot by adding a one inch piece of pipe inside the overflow.  But then it has a surge to it but knocked out most of the noise.  So I'm may build a glass overflow.
