Well I had to get out of the hobby for a bit but I'm back.

Working in a 12 gal glass aqua pod.
Going with a diy PVC syphon overflow going to a 12 gal acrylic sump.

In the sump is a coralife 65 skimmer, algae scrubber / regugium, and a tray for phosphate filter media.

Planning the lighting right now with a DIM4 led controller driving 12 Cree LEDs.

Going with about 25 pounds of rock total in the DT and sump.

Pick will come as the build progresses.

Almost finished with the sump. I'm using a 12 gallon Eclipse I had setting around. Baffles installed, ATO installed, skimmer stand and return bulkhead. Still have to finish a section for a refugim and light

Fully contained inside the hood. I'm debating how I want to run the skimmer.

Top fits like a glove. Still have to cut the vents for twin exhaust fans to keep things cool with the light inside the hood.

It's cramped but I managed to get a decent size main chamber for skimmer water and baffles to remove micro bubbles. A media tray for incoming water, a dedicated refugim with a grow light and the pump return area with ATO switches. Everything but the skimmer is contained under the hood. My hopes are to help reduce evaporation. If I run into cooling issues I can just crack the lid open.

Also upgraded the coralife skimmer pump with a magdrive 7 with a skimmer impeller.

So am I. I wanted to fill it tonight but I am short a few parts. I have boxes of fittings and pipe I'm short on pipe nipples.

The DT has been running over a month now. Just want to get the sump up and going to work out the bugs.

Next is a DIY led array with a dim4 controller.

I'm not sure where the picture below come from. I didn't post it ... LOL

Why is there a picture of Chris and his mangled finger showing up?

First run to see how it works. So far so good.

May end up putting the skimmer on a trimmer. It's been on for 5 mins and it's already pulling gunk out.

One more pic for the night. The syphon overflow is finished. Will test it on another day. [IMG]

Syphon installed and working great. It's very quiet. The loudest part of the tank is the mag pump running the skimmer.

I want to add two nano pumps in the future for more flow.

Next is saving up for the full spectrum led array.

4 months since I started on the nano. Completely cycled, water parameters are stable.

It's crawling with amphipod's. Only inhabitants is a Picasso clown, Halloween Hermit, 4 blue leg hermits, four sand sifting snails, and a small turbo snail.

Added a bit more rock in the DT and sump. Combined rock in the system is about 45-50 pounds. Maybe a bit overkill but I to put it somewhere. I was keeping it in a bucket with a heater, pump, and light to keep it healthy.

Amphipod hotels. Lol. My tank is loaded with them but I'm trying to get more and a stable supply in my sump. I really want a mandarin and I know I need tons of live food.

The clown will not set still for a decent photo.

If you look under the return you can see one of the "hotels" I loaded them with flake food and the amphipod's are already in them feeding.
