With Indonesian corals no longer being imported, it's looking like the overall coral prices are going up.

I wonder how vendors are going to cope with this. I don't think austrailian reefs alone can support the current demand and prices are kind of reflecting it, especially on more popular corals.

I regret not getting an Indo. Gold Torch when I had the chance, any remaining indo gold torches are now 299.00+ per head.

Luckily I do have several Aussie gold torches but even they are becoming rare and extremely pricey. I purchased mine earlier this year at 80.00 per head. Now they are selling out at almost $200-$400 per head. If aussie waters ever close, I wouldn't be surprised if they hit even higher numbers.

Anyone else stocking up on corals? I plan to get a few more zoas/palys and even some sticks just incase.

Looks like trading maybe popular again.

I’ve that the Indo ban is going to be temporary but who knows. But I’ve definitely thought about stocking up. Lol I think tlreefs has some gold torches idk if the are Indo or Aussie.

Yeah, according to Pacific East-Coast Aquaculture, it's not really a ban but at the current time nothing is leaving Indonesia and may not for a sometime.

The last time I checked on TLReefs, most of the gold torches were gone.

I kind of want to stock up now cause I don't feel like paying $50.00 for regular stuff and then $200.00 for anything slightly colorful. When fiji shut it's doors, zoas found in fiji, sky rocketed in value. Luckily they were pretty common and cheap when I got them. Now they aren't that cheap at all.

I have heard the same, that it isnt really long term ban but a bunch of legal jargon that is being worked out and will eventually get back to going. While the people that can are making money now, I would just ride it out. The thing is, we are in a great time and spot in this hobby where we do not have to rely on so many coral being imported. What some of these guys are doing with major grow facilities, there really is no worry with what is coming or going. Grant it some corals are really expensive at the moment and yellow tangs are now a $50 fish where they use to be $19.95, if this hobby stays on track, there will be plenty of other suppliers and hobbiest to trade with to fill the needs and wants. Corals are the least of my worry.

There are some vendors who do aquaculture a good bit.

I just don't want it to go from a legal thing in to a full blown ban.

I will probably still pick up a few things... just in case.
