I've got a house on a crawl built in 1980. Tank would be perpendicular to joist on exterior wall. I'm thinking about an 8x2x2 tank. Filled up the weight would be about 2000lbs. My thinking is it would be okay since weight is divided over more joists. But would this push it too much?

I think it would be okay. I would recommend putting some supports if you wanted. But as long as it is spread over multiple it should be just fine!

Yea I’m looking at the same scenario getting ready to upgrade to a 190 rimless debating on putting it up stairs in my living room, or down in the game room where I have a slab. I was going to “box” in the floor joist and run 6x6 post down to the ground just for added support
