It is one tough acro. When I got home from vacation 4 months ago it had large areas of dead skin and algae growing on it. You can see the one remaining discolored spot in the very middle. It now is covered and has polyps, it just hasn't fully recovered yet.

My tuxedo urchin has outdone himself in his camo efforts today. He picked up the molt from my blood shrimp as well as peeling several pieces of coraline algae off the overflow. :)

Changed my scape up a little. The right side was to cluttered looking and there was some areas with poor flow. I used the Tonga I had in the sump to create a little arch. (sorry David:))

This is a very old picture of what my right side looked like.

This is what it looks like now. I shot this right after I got through so everything was still a little mad.

    Tighter shot.

Looks good. Looks like a lot better real estate for corals to me.

    Awesome tank doc

  11. WoW. Beautiful FTS! Are you using a filter for color? I ask because all my pics are blue unless I filter.
You better keep an eye on the urchin, it's got a little Silence of the Lamb thing going
I cannot wait to come see your tank! You've got a ton of color and life!!!

Thanks Mark. These are just cell phone pics but my Galaxy S5 has a white balance correction that makes it appear like the naked eye sees things.

You gave me an idea though. I have filters for my Go Pro used for diving. I wonder if they would color correct for the aquarium also? I'll give it a try tonight.

  13. I put the go pro in my tank without any filter and it surprisingly color corrected quite well.

Got a couple of new acro frags from one of our sponsors, Unique Corals. The colors on these two are the most vivid I've seen on an acrol The picture doesn't do them justice. Hope I can get them to keep their colors.

Nice! I will have to check them out after I get my dosing pumps. I want to get those installed before adding many sps. But Unique Corals looks like they are the place to go. I think the Blue one is my favorite.

They are Acropora vermiculata (according to Scott). The green one is almost yellow. Looks like a flourescent magic marker, kind of like the glostick acro on Battle Corals site. They will be beside each other in the tank. Still trying to decide where to put that second purple stylo frag.

  19. How's that divers den piece? Can you get a shot of that?
Your getting quite a collection of nice pieces!!

I'll try to get one when the lights come on Mark. Unfortunately it doesn't look too good right now. I had moved it up to mid tank a couple of days ago and someone (pretty sure it was the tuxedo) knocked it off. One of the branches was lodged down in a hole. When I got it out that branch was bleached. I doesn't look like RTN because there is some color still around the corallites and there is no sloughing of skin. If it gets worse I'll frag that off. The other four branches look the same. Not much polyp extension, brown with a touch of color on the tips.
