Anyone else enjoy the booster pack suspense?

Every so often I do enjoy buying booster packs or things like Magic the Gathering/Pokemon Booster packs to see what I get. The suspense of not knowing what you get is fun sometimes. So instead of buying something like that I bought myself a coral booster pack. I bought a 30 assorted zoa/paly frag pack, expecting the worst. I'm just looking for different variations, nothing high end. However, a few would be nice of course but I expect a 1% chance of that happening lol.

I was only planning to buy some Dragon's Breath Macro Algae but saw the great deal and tried it out, I think it was about 7.30 per frag, which is pretty good, considering a lot of the cheapest frags at swaps are about $10. It is from a reputable site so I'm not too worried.

Anyone else enjoy buying blindly? =)

The only downside is that 30 frags will max me out in space...time to sell my extras or time for a bigger tank!

Sure thing! Sadly I don't have a camera so I wouldn't be able to show you the quality.

Eh I'm not too worried I'm sure I can take your word for it I would definitely be interested in it because I think I've narrowed down to just wanting zoas gsp, and a few nems for this first tank . bigger and better things in the plans (in my head atleast)

My tank is fairly similar to yours.

    I am nems(Bta/RFAs), zoa/paly and hammers/frogs-spawns. I'm more for the moving/twitching alive look tank.

I'll give you a pretty detailed review. What I may consider fine, may not be for you lol.

Otherwise I'm quite excited for the pack. A lot of pretty zoas/paly are actually cheap. Its just that getting to a frag swap to beat the hordes for them is a bit hard and its even harder when we have very few swaps around us. To buy a single cheap common frag online and get it here, is pricey, shipping is generally 40-50. A few places offer it at 20.00 but overall it would cost me about 50-60.00 on average to get a common frag of zoa/palys here. So instead of paying 60.00, 4 times, for four rather common frags, I'll just buy 30 w/ shipping included, lol. So if I get 4 common variations I don't have, I'm good!

I feel you there I'm not really picky I only have 1 zoa frag right now. It's a bright green kind and don't honestly know the names. Hammer and zoas will probly be the only other corals I add in I have 1 frogspawn( I may get a couple more heads) but other than that nems, gsp, and that one zoa frag

Looking forwardto seeing some pictures! 30 frags? I'm not sure I could find spots for that many!

I'm pretty tight on spots. Amongst 35+ RFAs and about 30 morphs of zoa/palys already, I'm literally packed. All of this is in a 20 gallon nuvo.

Wish I could take pics but I don't have a camera and my phone is ancient. My sister will be heading down this way, maybe I'll ask her to come take a few shots with her camera on Friday.

Well, I'm off to make some water for QT tomorrow!

So I got the frags in and they are opening.

I got 30 + 3 free frags. I did receive a few duplicates, 3 radioactive dragon eyes and 2 watermelons and 2 dull pink palys.

Of the morphs that I would gladly pay $40.00 for, I got 3. A beautiful pink paly equivalent to my tyree orange. Only difference to the tyree orange is that it doesn't have an inner orange circle, this one is all pink. I also got an Iron man paly, exactly like the one on Cherry Corals for $40. The last one is known as the Crystal Pink paly from Planet zoa. So those three were about $120.00 worth. Out of the 33 frags, 23 are what I plan to keep. So the other 20 frags are about $5-15 a piece I would pay. Even at $5 a piece, that would bring me up to $220 which is the price of the entire thing however, palys like these lunars I got are generally 15.00-20.00. So overall, the package is worth more than you pay for.

I will keep and grow out the rest but I don't plan to keep them long term. May trade it for bottles of Ultra Gel Super Glue once they are healed and quarantined, lol...

However, some of the frags appear neglected. Some have dead/dying heads on them, meaning I'm going to have to cut these frags up to remove dead polyps. There are also pests, so I'm going to cut these all off and reglue every last one of them. By the time I'm done I expect about 60+ some frags....o yeah, these frags come with anywhere from 8-20 heads.

Overall my Yourreef.com experience was pretty good.

Now time for fragging, well after dinner that is!
